Asset Management

The deregulated power market puts energy suppliers under enormous pressure to find new ways of cutting costs. Especially expensive technical equipment such as transformers are to supply continuous online data about their operating state in the future which will be used as a basis for technical and commercial decisions: the objective is to significantly reduce operating costs and to increase the service life of the equipment.

The great challenge of asset management lies in summarising and reducing these volumes of data, which have been acquired by scientific means, to technically and economically valuable and meaningful parameters that can be accessed by means of an online information system. This system is the focus of the current work which will probably be completed in the second half of 2004.
