Continuous Optimisation

Continuous further development of power station technology is contributing significantly to reducing CO2 emissions, the responsible use of resources, and a sustainable energy supply. EnBW specialists are therefore working on the optimisation of conventional, nuclear, and renewable power station technology. The possibility of using alternative and secondary fuels also plays an important role. Germany already has a very energy-efficient national economy compared with other nations.

EnBW is working intensely on increasing the efficiency of its power plants in order to continue to operate responsibly and to reduce CO2 emissions. One of the main focuses is the optimisation of conventional power stations since they will remain the backbone of Germany’s energy supply right into the middle of this century. Conventional power stations cover energy supply, compensate for power fluctuations of renewable energy sources, and can fill the gap in the event of supply failure.

In terms of responsible and sustainable use of resources, efficient power station technology is of international importance. This is particularly true in view of the sharply increasing energy demand of developing and threshold countries. The expertise of EnBW employees is therefore sought-after all over the world.
