Compact ventilation systems in
More and more homes are constructed as solar passive houses whose heating demand is about 80 % lower than that of traditionally constructed houses. In order to offer occupants of solar passive houses optimal energy solutions with respect to comfort as well as commercial viability and environmental friendliness, the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE), commissioned by EnBW, has conducted research into whether compact ventilation systems are suitable for this application.
The technology was optimised during monitoring by ISE and the efficiency criterion (20 kWh/qm.a for household appliances) was reached by 70 % of houses. The survey conducted by ISE, which was completed at the end of 2003, showed that occupants of solar passive houses are satisfied with the technology. The ambient temperature of the living areas was particularly well received.
