Energy production in the EnBW group

We rely on a balanced energy mix.

With an installed electrical output of around 15,000 MW, EnBW is one of the most important energy producers in Germany. We hereby rely on a balanced energy mix of conventional power stations, nuclear power plants and renewable energies.

A balanced energy mix and high quality of supplies

Three things are particularly important for us: firstly to make production efficient and environmentally sound and secondly to maintain a high security of supplies for our customers. We achieve this through the simultaneous use of nuclear power, coal, gas, oil and renewable energy sources. 65% of our own electricity generation is CO2-free. We thus make an important contribution to climate protection.

Expansion of renewable energies and improvement of energy efficiency

Our production structure will have to satisfy the different social, economic, ecological and corporate requirements in future too. In this respect, we concentrate on the topics of the economically sensible expansion of renewable energies and improvement of energy efficiency. EnBW will secure supplies in Baden-Württemberg and further strengthen its position as an important energy producer by investing billions over the coming years.

Nuclear power

nuclear power stands for reliable and climate-friendly electricity production.

Conventional energy

coal, oil and gas are today a key part of energy supplies.

Hydropower

hydropower is the most important source of electricity from renewable energies.

Wind power

wind power will play a key role in the energy mix  of tomorrow.

Bioenergy

biomass power plants are a further step towards effective climate protection.

Solar power

the sun is our most important supplier of energy.

Geothermal energy

99% of the earth is hotter than 1,000°C, a huge energy potential.

Fuel cell

EnBW is a pioneer in the field of fuel cells.
