Commitment to renewable energies  

Wind, water, sun and plants – these are the stuff from which the energy of the future will be won. EnBW is already shaping the energy mix of tomorrow.

The EnBW is involved in the research, promotion, development and use of renewable energies. Our ultimate goal is to produce efficient and climate-friendly electricity and heat while ensuring a secure supply. We therefore focus only on mature technologies of hydropower, wind power, photovoltaic and biomass. We are investing in renewable energy, thereby creating the future today.

The development of renewable energy is an essential element of the EnBW growth strategy.  Energy from hydropower, wind power, photovoltaic and biomass currently make up 11% of our energy mix. Throughout the group we are aiming to increase the proportion of renewable energy to about 20% by 2020, which corresponds to a doubling of our current generation.  EnBW Erneuerbare Energien GmbH bundles the expansion activities within this generation segment in which we will invest around 3 billion in the coming years.
