Karlsruhe. The CEO of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, Hans-Peter Villis, today notified the chairman of EnBW’s Supervisory Board, Dr. Claus Dieter Hoffmann, that he will not be looking to be reappointed as the company’s CEO after his service agreement expires at the end of September 2012. Mr. Villis explained he no longer felt he had the undivided trust of the Supervisory Board.
The chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Claus-Dieter Hoffmann, expressed his personal understanding for this action and said that the Supervisory Board respected Mr. Villis’ decision.
The Supervisory Board would also like to explicitly acknowledge Mr. Villis’ services over the past four years, in particular his initiative and successful implementation of several key projects in the area of thermal generation, renewable energies and international investments. He has provided for clarity and transparency in the company’s planning and reporting and made significant developments to the management structure.
His personality has earned him the trust of employees and business partners alike.
Notwithstanding this announcement, there is mutual agreement that Mr. Villis will continue to perform his tasks as CEO.
