EnBW will not take the Neckarwestheim I and Philippsburg 1 nuclear power stations back into operation after expiry of the three month moratorium
Karlsruhe. EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG will not start-up its nuclear power stations Neckarwestheim I and Philippsburg 1 and put them back on the grid for the period between expiry of the three month moratorium and the upcoming change to the Atomic Energy Act.
This decision from the EnBW Management Board together with the Supervisory Board is based on an in-depth discussion and careful consideration of the various arguments. The ultimate decisive aspects were, just like forgoing filing a claim against the moratorium, weighing up the short-term economic disadvantages on the one hand, and the long-term maintenance of customer relationships and acceptance in society and among political decision-makers on the other hand.
