Prof. Claassen does not make himself available for the extension of the contract
Karlsruhe/Stuttgart. The Chairman of the Management Board of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, Prof. Dr. Utz Claassen, today informed the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company, Dr. Claus Dieter Hoffmann, in writing and orally that he will not be available for renewal of the contract on 1 May 2008 and thus also not for extending the contract for structural, professional, personal and family reasons.
In view of the successfully completed restructuring, the timely implementation of the extremely ambitious objectives of the cost-cutting programme Top Fit, three record results and three record dividends in a row, as well as the drastic and sustainable professionalisation of the structures and processes in the company and the completed strategic realignment, Prof. Claassen considers his mission to be complete with the expiration of his current employment contract and thus sees the opportunity to turn to other things once he has completed his term of office
