Successful debut for EnBW investment scheme
Karlsruhe. Since last Tuesday, around 300 citizens have taken advantage of an opportunity to invest via a subordinated loan in the economic success generated by an EnBW wind farm package. As a result, the overall volume envisaged of € 2 million was allocated within the space of only one week.
The package consists of 17 wind farms with an installed output of approximately 156 megawatts in total in which an EnBW subsidiary holds a majority stake. "We are delighted that so many citizens have shown an interest in this innovative investment scheme within such a short space of time and have participated by investing", commented EnBW CFO Thomas Kusterer: "Once we have analysed the insights gained from this test, we will be looking at further projects of this kind." In the current year alone, EnBW has already invested significantly more than € 200 million in renewable energies.
