Stuttgart. Dr. Bernhard Beck and Dr. Wolfgang Bruder have been appointed to the Management Board of EnBW Regional AG by the Supervisory Board. This takes the number of members of the Management Board at the network and municipal service company of the EnBW Group to five. Dr. Beck is the new CEO (and is also a member of the Management Board of the EnBW Group). Dr. Christian Holzherr, who has been responsible for the commercial activities of the company since February 2002, has been appointed deputy CEO of EnBW Regional AG. The three new Management Board members will join the two current members, Peter Boos (personnel) and Dr.-Ing. Michael Kunath (technology).
Dr. Wolfgang Bruder is taking over responsibility for municipal relations and sales on the Management Board from Ulrich Wendt, who left the Group in January. Dr. Bruder, born in Göppingen in 1951, studied Administrative and Economic Science at Constance University and initially pursued an academic career. He began working for the Offenburg Civic Administration as Finance and Business Officer in 1984. He was elected Lord Mayor of Offenburg in 1989 and re-elected to this office in 1997. Since November 2002, Dr. Bruder has been working for the EnBW Group as the General Executive Director for municipal relations.
EnBW Regional AG is one of the biggest companies in the EnBW Group. It is responsible for the construction and operation of the 80,000 kilometre-long electricity distribution network as well as municipal relations and services in Baden-Württemberg. EnBW Regional AG also holds equity interests in over 40 municipal utilities and regional distribution companies. The central business units and the six regional centres employ around 2,300 people. The company cooperates closely with NWS Regional AG & Co. KG, pooling cross-network expertise to provide statewide services to network customers and municipalities via their electricity, gas, water, heating and telecommunications networks.
