Agreement in Principle signed between AWN and EnBW
Buchen/Karlsruhe. After intensive discussions in the past weeks, EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, the Abfallwirtschaftsgesellschaft des Neckar-Odenwald-Kreises mbH (AWN) and T-Plus GmbH ( a wholly owned subsidiary of EnBW) signed a common agreement in principle. This agreement in principle will regulate the further procedure relating to the shutdown of the mechanical-biological waste treatment plant (MBT) in Buchen which was resolved upon in February and has been initiated in the meantime.
Accordingly, AWN, a company wholly owned by the Neckar-Odenwald district, will treat and appropriately dispose of the entire geostabilate from the MBT stored at the landfill site Sansenhecken. For this purpose the AWN will obtain expense allowance as well as, at the final shutdown of the plant Buchen, ownership of the existing buildings which until then belong to T-Plus. In addition AWN will receive a compensation payment for the early shutdown of the MBT and the therewith associated implications on the landfill site Sansenhecken. The amount of the payment was tacitly agreed on on both sides.
