Dr. Hans-Josef Zimmer new Chief Technology Officer of the EnBW
Karlsruhe. Today, the supervisory board of the EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG has complied with the recommendation of the committee for management board matters and decided to appoint Dr. Hans-Josef Zimmer (49) Chief Technology Officer with effect from October 1, 2007.
Dr. Hans-Josef Zimmer studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen. After graduation, he was involved in scientific activities at the Karlsruhe nuclear research center and later at the Electric Power Research Institute in Palo Alto, USA. Since 1989, he has been active in different capacities within the EnBW. In January 1998, he went to the Philippsburg nuclear power plant assuming its management in November 2000. Since December 2003, Dr. Zimmer has been the Chief Operating Officer of the Energie Baden-Württemberg Kernkraft GmbH (EnKK). Since August 2004, he has been the chairman of the management board of the EnKK which have been operating the nuclear power plants Baden-Wuerttemberg since January 1, 2007. Effective from December 1, 2004, Dr. Zimmer was appointed to the board of the EnBW Kraftwerke AG. Dr. Hans-Josef Zimmer is 49 years old, married and has three children.
