Statement on the charge of the Karlsruhe Public Attorney's Office against Prof. Dr. Utz Claassen
EnBW Media Spokesperson Schierwater has the following comments on the charge of the Karlsruhe Public Attorney's Office against the Chairman of the Board of Management of EnBW, Prof. Dr. Utz Claassen:
- The allegations made by the Public Attorney's Office against Mr Claassen are and will remain unfounded and absurd.
- The blatant unequal treatment by the Public Attorney's Office, which EnBW has already criticised on numerous occasions, is being continued through this charge.
- Justice Minister Goll was recently asked a question in Parliament, to which he relied that one of the tasks of a Member of Parliament is to represent the Federal State at sporting events. He said it was unproblematic under criminal law, even if the free tickets were provided by a sponsor. It is even more incomprehensible that a charge has been made against Claassen given the fact that he also invited Minister Goll and some of his fellow ministers to soccer games. This type of unequal treatment is inapprehensible.
- Apparently criminal proceedings are to fall as a test case on the shoulders of a single person. That is bitter thanks for "Public - Private - Partnership".
