Using our experience to play an active part in a key European market

The Swedish wind market is one of the key European markets for the expansion of onshore wind energy. In order to also make a contribution to the expansion of renewable energies here, EnBW is entering the Swedish market with its own team as an experienced project developer and operator of wind power plants.

EnBW wind farms in Sweden

In July 2018, EnBW founded its Swedish subsidiary “EnBW Sverige AB” in Falkenberg, Halland. EnBW’s subsidiary Connected Wind Services (CWS) has already represented EnBW there since 2016. CWS is one of the leading companies in Sweden for the manufacturer-independent servicing and maintenance of wind power plants.

Only a few months after EnBW Sverige AB was founded, it acquired two operating companies with seven wind farms – comprising 51 wind turbines with a total installed output of 105 megawatts (MW) – at the end of December 2018. The installed output has since increased to 107.5 MW following the acquisition of another turbine in February 2020. In addition, two grid companies were acquired in 2018 that, amongst other things, also have wind farms in their portfolios.
