Karlsruhe. Yesterday, the 77th Annual General Meeting of the Austrian EVN AG in Maria Enzersdorf elected Dr. Amir Ghoreishi, plenipotentiary of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, with a large majority to the Supervisory Board of the company. Together with the Supervisory Board members who were also appointed by the principal shareholder, Dr. Ghoreishi obtained an election result of 99,97 percent. Thus, EnBW, which holds a share of 29,74 percent in the EVN since October 2005, is henceforth represented in the Supervisory Board of the leading Austrian provincial supplier.

„We are very pleased that the strategic relationship between EVN and EnBW will now also be further reinforced on this institutionalised path“, said Prof. Dr. Utz Claassen, chairman of the Board of Management of EnBW. „Dr. Ghoreishi is an outstanding specialist, who with his large international experience and competence represents an enrichment for each board of this kind.“

EnBW is the second largest shareholder of the company, after the NO Landes-Beteiligungsholding GmbH, which owns 51 percent of EVN shares.

„EnBW aims for close collaboration and partnership in the Supervisory Board and will gladly bring in its energy efficient and international competence for the benefit of EVN“, said Dr. Amir Ghoreishi, who as an Austrian brings along a good knowledge of the Austrian energy industry.
