Philippsburg. Block 2 of the Philippsburg nuclear power station (KKP 2) has been back on the grid since this morning, December 21, 2009. The block was shut down by the operator, EnBW Kernkraft GmbH, during the night of Friday, December 18, to Saturday, December 19, to remove and analyse oil samples from insulation plugs in the machinery transformer area. The oil samples were analysed in a technical process in the laboratory. They correspond with the stipulated norms and guide values.

Respective samples had already been taken in the summer. They also corresponded with the stipulated norms and guide values. The samples that have now been taken, were only taken in order to confirm the previous results.

The supervisory authority, the Ministry of the Environment for Baden-Württemberg, has been informed about the results of the sample analysis.
