Do you remember your first day? What was your first impression?

Emilie: Yes, absolutely! I was really surprised by how large, modern and well organized everything was. At the same time, the atmosphere was incredibly warm – you immediately notice that team spirit is truly lived here.

How did you first come across the dual study program at Netze BW?

Emilie: Through the DHBW website, where various dual partners are presented. That’s how I discovered Netze BW and was immediately curious, because the combination of business, digitalization and energy really appealed to me.

Which degree program are you studying, and what excites you most about it?

Emilie: I’m studying Business Administration – Digital Business Management. For me, this program combines the best of two worlds: economic thinking and digital future topics. That’s exactly what makes it so exciting for me.

What do you like most about the connection between theory and practice?

Emilie: I think it’s great that you don’t just learn from textbooks, but directly see how that knowledge is applied in everyday work. I also love the regular alternation between university and practice – every three months a new rhythm, new tasks, new impressions.

Which tasks or projects do you enjoy the most?

Emilie: I enjoy everything that involves planning, organization and creativity the most. When I’m able to contribute my own ideas and help shape things, I’m completely in my element.

How many practical phases have you completed so far, and where would you like to gain insights next?

Emilie: So far, I’ve worked in the areas of brand management & events as well as in an IT department. Both were really exciting! I’m especially looking forward to my international practical phase in Italy, and I’d definitely like to get a glimpse into the HR department as well.

Has anything particularly surprised you since you started?

Emilie: Yes – how flexible and versatile EnBW and my colleagues are. There are so many opportunities to get involved, and everyone is open to new ideas and impulses.

How do you experience teamwork – especially as a young colleague still in your studies?

Emilie: Very positively! I was warmly welcomed from the very beginning. Whenever I have questions, someone always takes the time to explain things to me. Everything happens at eye level – you really feel like part of the team.

Do you feel that your ideas are heard and taken seriously?

Emilie: Yes, definitely! Sometimes I’m even surprised by how much influence I actually have. It’s a great feeling when your own suggestions are implemented or when your work receives visible appreciation.

What do you particularly value about the corporate culture at Netze BW / EnBW?

Emilie: Clearly the flexibility, the many development opportunities – and the great company cafeteria.

Where do you see yourself after graduation? Do you already have plans or wishes?

Emilie: I can definitely imagine staying with EnBW / Netze BW. There are so many exciting departments here, but I’d like to explore a few more areas before making a final decision.

What would you say to someone who is considering starting a dual study program at Netze BW?

Emilie: Definitely go for it! Everyone here is really friendly, you’re well supported and you quickly find your place. Plus, the dual system works really well here because many students start every year – so you’re never on your own.
