EnBW Takes Over Project Management
Karlsruhe. The German company, EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, has completed the takeover, announced in the spring of 2009, of the 75.1 percent share in the project company STKW Energie Dörpen GmbH & Co. KG for the development of a coal-fired power plant at the Dörpen site in Emsland (Lower Saxony). EnBW also takes over management of the project upon implementation. BKW Energie AG (BKW) is still involved in the project company with a 24.9 percent share.
With its headquarters in Karlsruhe, EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG is the third largest energy supply company in Germany with more than six million customers, an annual turnover exceeding 16 billion Euros and around 20,000 employees. Its core activities are in the areas of electricity and gas as well as energy and environmental services. Traditionally, EnBW is deeply rooted in Baden-Württemberg. The company is also active throughout Germany and in other central and eastern European markets.
