Green light for the expansion of the maintenance business for wind power plants
Karlsruhe. EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG has now successfully concluded the acquisition of the manufacturer-independent service provider Connected Wind Services A/S (CWS). Following the closing and thus the legally binding conclusion of the purchase contract agreed on 3 August 2016, the way is now clear for a common future for EnBW and CWS in the international servicing and maintenance business for wind power plants. The approval of the antitrust authorities was already issued by the Federal Cartel Office in the middle of September.
EnBW is resolutely pushing forward the expansion of the renewable energies business field with the acquisition of the manufacturer-independent service provider CWS that has headquarters in Denmark and national subsidiaries in Germany and Sweden. As a result, EnBW is strengthening its position as a full-service provider for the planning, construction, operation, maintenance and servicing of wind turbines and becoming a significant player in the fast growing area dealing with the servicing and maintenance of wind power plants.
CWS is one of the leading independent service providers for turbine maintenance in Europe with service teams in Denmark, Sweden and Germany and thus has an excellent starting position for further growth in the future together with EnBW. CWS will remain an independent brand and will be networked with the activities of EnBW for the further expansion of wind energy.
