EnBW continued its growth course in a challenging 2021 financial year and increased Group operating earnings for the fifth year in succession. At the same time, the transformation into a provider of sustainable infrastructure solutions continues at a rapid pace. The Company today is a leader both in established and in new areas of business. These include the implementation of large scale, subsidy-free photovoltaic and offshore wind projects, comprehensive broadband expansion and the rollout of fast charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

- Highlights in 2021: Opening of Germany’s biggest fast charging station, construction started on two further large-scale subsidy-free solar farms in Brandenburg, additional sought-after offshore leases secured in the UK
- Sustainability as a guiding principle for the Company’s strategic orientation. Target: Climate neutrality by 2035.
The events in Ukraine leave us appalled. We feel for those affected and are working to support them with many short-term and also long-term initiatives. This war will also have major impact on the energy supply system. As an integrated company positioned along the entire value chain, we not only stand by our special responsibility for security of supply in Germany. We will also work with conviction to help achieve, as soon as possible, a carbon-free and largely self-sufficient energy supply.
