Dr. Charlotte Beissel
Member of the EnBW Board of Management
Dr. Charlotte Beissel was born in 1978 in Düsseldorf. After studying law at the universities of Bayreuth and Düsseldorf, as well as undertaking a traineeship and sitting a second state law examination in Berlin and Düsseldorf, she was awarded her doctorate (Dr. iur.) from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in 2011. She began her professional career in 2009 as a research assistant in the legal department of the Association of German Foundations in Berlin.
In 2009, Beissel moved to the City of Düsseldorf, where she was Head of Council Affairs and Political Committees and worked as a legal advisor until June 2015. In July 2015, she became Head of the Central Office for Human Resources, Organization and IT.
Beissel then moved to Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG in April 2017, where she was Head of Human Resources and Authorized Officer until September 2021, before being appointed Chief Human Resources and Corporate IT Officer in 2021. From 2023 to 2026, she was Chief Sales, Customer Management, Human Resources and Corporate IT Officer. From 2021 to June 2026, Beissel was a Member of the Board of Management and Chief Human Resources Officer of Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG.
Beissel has been a Member of the Board of Management of EnBW since 1 July 2026 and will take over the reins from Colette Rückert-Hennen on 1 September 2026, assuming responsibility for HR strategy & transformation, HR business development & solutions, legal affairs, auditing, compliance & regulatory management, boards & shareholder relationships, occupational medicine & health management and corporate real estate management.
With an eye on her imminent retirement, Colette Rückert-Hennen will leave the Board of Management on 31 August 2026. The change of board member is thus made by mutual agreement. By completing the succession process early, EnBW is consolidating the division’s strategic focus and ongoing development.
