Minister-President Günther H. Oettinger visits the EnBW fair stand

Hannover/Karlsruhe. Today, the Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, Günther H. Oettinger, visited the stand of the EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG at the Hanover Fair International, at the head of a delegation from the State of Baden-Württemberg. The Chairman of the Board of the EnBW, Prof. Utz Claassen, and EnBW board member Dr. h.c. Detlef Schmidt welcomed the delegation and took the opportunity of a tour of the stand to explain the company’s marketing philosophy. The characteristic features of this philosophy are innovation and a consistently customer-based view of the market. Claassen demonstrated some examples of this innovation during a virtual flight over the State of Baden-Württemberg, which Claassen introduced with the words, “We will lay Baden-Württemberg at your feet, and open up new perspectives.”

The virtual flight led from Rheinfelden, where the currently largest construction site in the area of regenerative energy – the hydro-electric power station of the same name – is located, via Rheinstetten, where a model of the energy-saving school is being implemented in cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Education, to Aalen, where the EnBW are at present testing their innovative “Price Signal at the Socket” project.

In the further course of the tour of the stand, Schmidt explained the EnBW’s synergetic multi-brand strategy, with the product brands EnBW, Yello, Naturenergie and Watt. “The EnBW is very successful not only in your network area, but nationwide as well. In the last few months alone, we were able to attract prominent large customers outside Baden-Württemberg. Of all competitors, the EnBW have the most customers outside their own area,” said Schmidt.

Oettinger was clearly impressed by the marketing strength and presence of the EnBW. “It is good to hear that Baden-Württemberg companies are implementing innovations in the State, and representing the State at national level,” said Oettinger.
